This has been a problem since they came out basically, the drop makes no sense. just for a random example, 12mil on Mindtail got 2 items, while 140k got 1 item. The thing that really bothers me is how much time I wasted being online raiding this while, another crew spent no effort, and got just as good drop as me.

I was thinking there should be a damage bracket for amounts drop for each crew that raids, say the raid has 100mil hp. every 1 mil is equal to 1 drop. Obviously this would be 'hard' for new crews for raids that do 10k damage but that could be worked to be set for avg level of the people in the raid to calculate a certain damage ratio for that level average.

this would probably be ugly coding. but its just a nice thought. Im really tired of raiding these kind of thing only to be let down, again and again.

thoughts?

think of items awarded though, not number.

Just an example. on Sigil server, Mindtail, my crew, Refined Intervention got 1 drop we had 4 mil damage done. The crew directly behind us Under Siege had 2.3 mil and got 2 items, at first I was greatly disappointed. Then I found out we got an Essence and they got 2 Recharge the Furys. Huge difference in the quality of the drop.

I agree that people should be rewarded for all that hard work, this was a major problem when blackhand was released too.

Thats sort of my point, My crew did 12mil and got screws and a metal, while yours did 4 and got a zhul essence. How does 4 mil qualify for 'quality drops' while my 12mil count for shit. And by the way for anyone that says oh blah blah you can use it to make the leet neck.. blah, no because we weren't told or even had an idea that quest items would drop so i think most of us took the time to sell off the items we didn't finish while we could or used the remaining coals to put together some flasks to raid.

On top of that most of the quest stuff is being removed so the drop of those quest items is completely useless now.

I think Justin said that they were awarding based off damage dealt and average experience of the crew. My crew raided non-stop but since we're of lower levels we didn't get 1 item. We did over 500k damage, and a crew that did 28k got an item. They weren't that much higher in level either.

Id say a somewhat perfect example.

Had no idea what your drops were, and on that point, then i agree with you. I thought you were going by quantity not quality.

Since that is not the case you were making, I think there should indeed be a change. Granted I love the fact that we did get a great drop, and I know we raided as much as we could with the accounts we have, but hard for me to think we earned it when other crews did much more damage and didn't really get anything to show for it.......

I think a more complex equation should be put into the server spawn drops (don't know what it is now) Obviously damage done should count the most,

but levels in the crew - a crew of level 10s doing 5k damage is not very impressive, if they however put a lot of work into it and got 500k damage or so that is much more impressive.

number of people in the crew - 50 people in a crew doing 100 mil damage is more impressive than 300 people doing same amount if crew levels are equal

levels in the raids - to make sure a level 60+ crew doesn't invite alot of level 1s to make average level lower trying to get more or better items

number of raids - granted this helps the low level crews more than high levels, doing a crap ton of raids shows dedication and hard work

time god took to die - goes hand in hand with number of raids. 100 raids done in a few hours, compared to months one just looks and sounds better.

these should also count. Makes it more fair. Not complete randomness. And of course a quality/quantity filter. A crew doing 12 mil damage getting basically nothing and a crew doing 1/3 their damage (granted if all these things were in play and it worked out that way then fair play) getting a nice item is kinda crappy.

maybe this is more of an idea of how to change the drops to make it better for everyone

not really complaining on my part at least, just offering a better system that what we currently have. I think it should have been changed years ago or thought out a little bit better when it first came out. I think any aspect of OW that is not up to par should be brainstormed and changed to make it a more enjoyable experience for the players, and hopefully reduce the complaints.

i actually think they boosted the loot drop this time... last time, i raided the boss with Iron Hand, and we were like the 5th or 6th crew on the list, and we got only 1 essence.

exactly been a broke system and nothings been improved, why else would those raids never be raided, because of the 5minutes waiting then finding out your crew got nothing for the effort
