CoP is still in the beta stage. The boards will be used a lot more once the next Beta starts (soon) and when the old CoP forums are killed off.

well people on OW, whinge and whine so much.
They probably don't get as much time working on the game as they'd like.
People keep finding pointless problems that don't need solving, and keep posting Tickets, that require admin's attention :D

Good point Kitty.. people just get way too carried away with their own pointless/easily fixed problems and make them get caught behind on their other work.

I don' think I'll play COP, I've played everquest and WoW and I doubt there is anything better when it comes to the 3D genre of mmorpg's... let alone the fact that they literally have thousands of people employed on the game everyday to make it better and better. I don't see rampid having thousands of employees, let alone hundreds. Anytime someone gets hired an entire news statement goes out about it, like we should congratulate the new employee. You all know what I'm talking about.
I'm not putting anyone down or saying anything bad, I just have low expectations considering the competition.
I think if there was some incentive to play it that could be linked to outwar, then maybe I would. For instance you could transfer your OW character to CoP at a sacrafice of half your experience or whatever, or maybe you could earn items or points on one place and transfer them to the other. Sounds kind of like Super Paper Mario, switching from the 2D to 3D worlds of mmorpg's :p

They do, but I think the majority of the Outwar Admin's are still having a say in the project.
I'm not 100% sure, they'd be better off telling you themselves.

I imagine the flow of tickets are still pretty large from the rollback... tons of crews got deleted, a bunch of lings are screwed (mine are still)... I think that is why tickets are still delayed.

The beta must have still lots of bugs. They have added many areas after the 2 that were in the closed beta. And do you remember how buggy they were sometimes..? Killing a bear crashed the server sometimes lol. But the last beta was really fun and this will be even Cooler!

Well we have no intention of competing with titles like World of Warcraft. Crowns of Power is on a smaller scale, developed by 4 people. World of Warcraft is on a massive scale, developed by hundreds of employees specializing in various areas.
The game play for Crowns of Power will be unique in its own right, and I feel it will be enjoyable to those who get involved in it. Its free, so there isn't really much to lose in that sense. You're right though, its quite a jump going from a 2D web-based world to a 3D graphical world, but we have high expectations for ourselves and every product we release for Rampid Interactive, so I hope that you give it a shot, but thats completely up to you. :)

The last "full" beta we had that wasn't closed off and PvP oriented included two zones. We now have a fully developed game world, with 9 zones, 2 dungeons (with more to come) and a capital city. We're looking forward to the opportunity to release it to the public in the coming weeks.

What's the specs? I'm not on a fantastic computer and it runs it pretty decently. I think the biggest requirement is ram (1gb).

1. jeez.. If you don't want to play it, what the hell are you doing on the forums? lol
2. i) Even if you halved peoples Exp, people would just get bored really quickly, half of the fun is the big rush at the start, where the competition is strongest.
ii) CoP isn't OW
iii) Would you really want to miss out on half of the fun of actually developing your player? just to start off stronger than most? there are lots of OW players that started late, and see this as a short hop (even though it's not the same game..) back into a game where they can actually have a chance of being one of the best.
3. I can't wait to give it a try, as said previously: the game's free, what do you have to lose? (+ I think it's actually going to be pretty good..)

If that computer is recent and worth anything, you could probably salvage most of the stuff out of it, or have someone fix it for cheaper than you could buy a new one.

woot, finally got a newish comp. Well all new besides the motherboard.
Hmm you got the same motherboard?? If you had 700 mhz earlier now you got like 1ghz and 512 ram? Old motherboards have their limits you know =P.
Nowadays when you buy a new computer you need to get over 2ghz and 2gb ram, also a nice video card if you want a game (like COP..=P) run smoothly.

Yea, as Fabar stated, WoW and EQ are appealing to an entirely different player base. Granted EQ is pretty much dead ( from what it was ) and WoW took it's place. EQ's major problems had to do with economies that were completely out of control and saturated with in game currency and the progression of the end game itself. There was nothing to do other than kill monsters for better loot to wear so u could beat even harder monsters etc etc. Well if you think about that over a long term scale, you could never join EQ right now because it would take you about 2 years to make a guy up to par with the current players, assuming no MORE expansions came out.
With that said, CoP really isn't about chasing around raid zones and dungeons trying to get the best gear so you can sit around in town with it on. The social dynamics of the game actually exist. If someone in WoW steals your quest mob or a rare, you can't do anything about it except spam emotes at them. If your on a pvp server you COULD kill them if they were of the opposing faction but what do u get out of that? honor? You get about 20 honor a kill if you solo someone of equal level. It takes about...10K to 30K to buy one item in their PvP system. Do the math and see how boring that gets. Ultimately there really isn't much to do once you reach WoW's endgame ( which I have ). CoP on the other hand will only get that much more fun at the end game. With smaller servers, consisting of up to 200-300 people online at once ( thats the goal ). The community will not be nearly as anonymous, holding people liable for their actions. With no faction based PvP system, if someone wrongs you, you can chase them down and kill them. The reward in this case is the money they have and depending on other factors...possibly items from their inventory ( not equipped gear ) that hold strong value in the mostly player regulated economy.
Unlike WoW's guild system ( which is basically a friends list ). CoP will have literally, real estate, in the game which your guild can own, maintain and defend. Your guild hall plays a very tight role in the end game. So for players who prefer to not grind the same dungeon or raid zone 100 times for, one better piece of gear. You can do alot of group and solo work to better your guild and your own character. Also, there isn't any form of upgrading your character in WoW other than gear. We will have an endgame experience system which will allow further upgrades once you hit the level cap such as increased stats, spells, and guild upgrades.
But for those who have waited a long time to play CoP the wait is almost over... Since we are working with about a fraction of the man power and money that a major company like sony or blizzard works with, i think we are doing a fine job :)
I hope everyone enjoys it and I look foward to the feedback upon the release.

Sounds alot like OW.
Aside from that from the way you desc. CoP it seems like it'll be a lot of fun. Though, I think WoW is great i'll probably play both... As i'm sure i'm going to get tired of trying to get Arena 3 after I get 1-2 peices... lol

Nah. its not the same motherboard its an older motherboard from a comp my dad had.
2.3ghz AMD processor now, windows xp, baught new graphics card (its in the mail now, I think its a 7700, my dad baught it so i'm not exactly sure), then going to max ram (already have the ram from my comp that was having issues), etc... Good harddrive aswell so dont have to wait 15 seconds to open stuff. Only problem is I think the motherboard can only hold 2gig of ram :((
Ferocity thanks for the info! It sounds interesting and fun. The social element in the game is what will make the game cool. I was hoping you could drop equipped items too but I see thats not gonna happen =P (maybe a small percentage change to drop a equipped item when you have murderer status?:D comon!! :D)
Oh well anyways looking forward to testing your achievements =)
Hey Extreme, Ylts, scythe, ajbeat, Lostsoul and many other old beta testers, lets make a guild right away when the Beta launches! "Beta Alliance" or something similar =P. Then we get to test the guild functions right away(and pwn people =P)!

$15 a month for WoW VS. Free? I'll take free anyday, could careless if it's better than WoW.
Those thouasands of employees at Blizzard are worthless, destroyed WoW. Only reason people still play it is because they are level 70 and don't want to lose what they've worked "so hard" for.

I've been playing a debug build of CoP (slower, requires more memory, etc), and it still plays "fine". More memory would definitely help, but I'd say 1GB will be fine once the real version is released.
