Also, work on blending your stock or render into your backgrounds more. Adding a glow or just pasting them on there looks horrid.

^ What he said. Try looking into smudging, etc., for some techniques on blending.

Also, overlaying images over your stock/render almost never looks good.

I gotta disagree with that. Sometimes overlaying images can give you a nice effect. But with the pics he showed, you win the arguing... He REALLY needs to work on those :P
