Ive never taken the things apart but im imagining youve got a spring mechanism detached. Is it a single or double pedal?

What type/brand name is it? My roommate has been playing drums for 16 years so I can ask him when he gets back in.

if it's a double bass pedal and he has to move it from different locations, then he has to or else the pedals will get screwed up. I'm in a band that plays shows all the time, so I would know.
