These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.
Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...
These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin

Wow I cannot imagine how many pissed off people there will be in the world. The service stations that primarily change/repair/inflate/rotate tires. How many businesses will go bankrupt? Amount of people that will lose their job because that is all they know after 20+ years in the industry? Increase in crime rate because of police spikes not working? Increase in fatalities due to riskier maneuvers required to apprehend the fleeing suspect/convict/escapee?

That being said, I am all for it, I would put them on my ride, don't look too bad at all, kinda like the police spikes not working too, nice extra bonus.

idk.....it looks like they will wear out to quickly, like look at them, they are thin, going like 60 MPH then slamming on the breaks (god forbid anyone ever has to do that,) it looks like those wheels will just peel off from the friction of the road

....i think tires made out of Solid rubber would be a better idea....

I have to agree with Sypherdias, I am not sure they would last very long if they were subjected to anything other than "granny driving".... If the strength was increased, maybe a steel wire mesh inside the rubber for strength, (similar theory to the steel in concreate) then it could work... Am sure they wont go on sale untill there atleast 60% safe... lol....
