What if instead of spamming trade chat of what u want to get sold.. before u like go to sleep or eat .. u can sit down and open a market.. where u can add 8-10 things u want to get sold.. and set how much gold or points u want for the specific item u selling. this will make it easier to sell things. but might be hard to fix due to the laggyness many ppl bring to the world. but if you fix the lag this will be possible and i think many ppl would enjoy this.

and of course, u can give your little shop/market a name where u write something funny or what u selling and the prices u have.

thats it for me ;)

The idea has been knocking around for awhile now and at first i liked it however after playing cop for awhile trade chat actually adds to the social part of the game and taking that away will mean people wont talk as much.

Not everyone wants to be immersed in a ineffiecent 'trade' chat where your forced to barter with people. In real life would you rather bid on items you need like groceries, gas, etc.. or would you prefer to just go somewhere where when you see what you want.. you know what they want for it, and you just buy it. Time is money.. not something i want to waste trying to trade, and 9/10 times i just wont do it. The current trade system is inadequate and thats putting it gently.

As if we don't have enough spam in chat ;)

I have to agree with TehNoOb on this one.
When I want to buy/sell something I'd like it to happen as fast as possible so I can go do something constructive again with my time..
If you see someone's item being put up for more than you're willing to pay for it then you can still talk to him to try and get a deal out of it.

If the system described by rolky were to be implemented I'd like Trade chat to stay aswel tho, for those who might think like Sparda and want to add a more social touch to their sales.

I've spoken to a dev, and spoken to someone from blizzard aswell. From what i gather an Auction/Trade House is one of the most difficult coding to do. I myself would love to have a trade/auction house and the Trade: chat completely gone as all you ever see is people fake bidding just to raise the price, and then pull out of the deal because they dont actually want/need it.

I usually don't make posts on other people's threads, but reading this gave me a brilliant idea! It's sorta like your idea, but ill try to be more specific..

What if there was a trade GUI (or trade window) that had two tabs named "Selling" and "Buying."

When you open the "Selling" tab, there will be three other tabs called "Equipment," "Runes," and "Misc." When you open one of these tabs, it will show all the things being sold (looks like a backpack), the person who is selling it, and the highest bid so far. If there is no current bid, it would tell you that. In order to make a bid, there would be 3 sliders that determine how much money you are gonna bid, and there would also be a text box next to the sliders so that you can type the price in manually. To organize it even more, it will be shown in order of its level. For example, a level 5 rune would be at the top of the window, and a level 50 rune would be at the bottom. This would allow people to see what is being sold, and at what price. In order to put an item in the trade GUI to sell, you would open the trade tab, scroll to the bottom, and there would be about 25 empty slots (that look like a backpack) and you would be able to drag your items in there. Then you would right click the item, and it would open the sliders so that you can set a price on the items. If you dont set a price, the price would be what it sells for at the vendor.

To put an item in the trade GUI to BUY, you would have to open the "Buying" tab, and there would be 25 text boxes where you type in the thing you want to buy. If the person has the link, and they type it in, it would show the linked version of the rune. To see what someone is buying, you can inspect them and there would be a new tab showing what they are buying... and / or you can type something like "/buying *insert player name here*" and it would open the tab for what the person is buying.

so u saying something like, you can run around in ff or somewhere else and buy something quick and easy from some1 someother place? thats physicly impossible ;)

and a add to first post, trade chat could still be up for telling the world what u selling, and ppl could discuss your prices

I forgot to mention that the person who is SELLING the item would be able to accept the trade or decline it :P

i mean ds your ideas aren't bad but 4 them 2 work they would deffinetly have 2 be tweaked but i would have 2 agree with sparda in trades u meet people and socialize and barter and bargain and it adds a certain extra element 2 the game that is missing from certain games but all ideas sound sweet but have 2 find a way 2 keep the social gate open while finding a better way of trades

How about a "trade bag", basically an inspectable backpack where you could place items you want to get rid of, and enter prices.... and maybe a flag above your head that lets people know you're "trading". Then, you could just stroll through, and if you see somebody that's lit, check out what they have for sale. You could still offer items and make requests on the trade chat (which would be great without all the clutter) , but people could buy stuff directly from your bag without interrupting what you're doing.... and you would still have to be online to trade.

Someone mentioned something similar in another post, but I don't remember who. And I'm too lazy to go look. Just don't want to take credit where it isn'nt due.
