I wouldnt go for whats 'hot', Id go for what you enjoy doing. The most in-demand jobs right now are in medical, social, and technology fields. But if your just not into any of that, figure out what you do like and find the highest point you can get with it.
Im great with computers and art, but instead of being a fancy graphic designer or programmer, I want to be a videogame developer. Just my thing :)

Video game a graphic design is pretty big right now. You start of a game tester which is sweet but repetitive you basically do the same levels over and over. but you do make a hell of alot of money, buddy of mine is working for midway and makes $85 an hour.

Medicine is good, I would have chosen it except I don't know lol I'm doing Social Science: International Business" which sounds so fancy and really isn't but College is so fun though.
I actually like Paramedic alot because I wanted to help people in medicine when they most needed it but I also want to goto university and paramedics only do college plus theres only one school that does it and it's in french.
Bien que je le parle, je ne crois pas que je puisse réussir dans une école française avec la terminologie médicale et je ne voulais pas prendre la chance non plus.

Only you can decide your career!
What do you enjoy?
What are you good at?
Do you prefer skilled or manual work?
Do you want to go onto further education?
There are so many questions and only you can answer them!!!

I would recommend specializing in a field you enjoy. Don't just go for your bachelors in college. Stay 1 1/2 or 2 more years to get your masters. You will have so much of an edge compared to like 80% of the other candidates. You will even qualify for more job titles this way.
such an easy answer and will never change

ummm well theres tons of things you could do, basically look for something you know you will enjoy and like doing the job...
if you cna't find a job that you like doing don't bother going into that career, cauaes you will waist alot of time...
Personally i like criminal justice, classes arn't 2 hard and you can do many things with it...
You can be a Parole Officer, Police Officer, and many other things.
Engineers arn't 2 bad either, my friends doing that at U of I right now, going for materials science engineering. You basically create shit with materials that are better than whats around out, like making lighter sports equipment tahts juts as effective as the current.

if you have the innitial cash and depending on your area..flip cars. By flip cars, I mean find a deal on a hot selling car in your area, find someone with that car that is in dire need of cash, to pay bills or rent or w/e, and give them a low cash offer. My first car I bought was a 1998 MKV4 toyota supra, the guy needed cash and I happened to have cash after working for 2 years, I offered him $14,500..he accepted and I walked away with a car worth a little over $32,000. Sold it, made enough money to do it again, and again. I haven't worked a 'normal' job since. If you have the cash and time, you can make a TON of money doing it. Do 1 car a month to start, or 1 car a week, whatever suits you and your ability to sell. My total profit for 2007 was a little over $48,000, after flipping 14 cars, 3 motorcycles and a small boat.

You want an awesome job that requires you work only 3 days a week, awesome pay and gives you the ability to go anywhere in the United States to work?. . Be a nurse, seriously.
Nursing is an incredibly in demand and understaffed profession right now and hospitals are paying out the butt to get nurses from anywhere.

Not everyone has an idea what they want to do with there life while in High School which is why the liberal arts degree path is so popular. I think it's a good idea to gauge ideas from people. . .Pick a few that look interesting and research them on your own and from there figure out the area of study best suited for you.

Hospitality Management seems like fun to me. I personally would've done that because that's what I'd like to do but they don't offer it over here :(.

Considering I also teach karate I think the second is a bit inappropriate. . .Since, ya know, I have to be close to kids and all.

Male Porn stars in most cases have to take up gay porn before they can move on. Also, I did see a few specials on it and it's harder then it looks. The girls have it much easier then the guys who need to be able to 'get it up' on command no matter how many takes are required.

Not sure, I'm sure this isn't in all cases but I'd imagine that there is a shortage in gay men willing to do it and a huge amount of guys wanting to do porn. But just pointing out how it's a bit more difficult for a male in that business.

I studied information technology, now I am an ambulance driver ^^
It just depends what you get on the road, some jobs just fall before you and then you just think "Wow this is great!"

So true, I was an art major until I picked up the Martial Arts as a hobby. Now I've completely switched to the fitness path.

medical is the way to go people are are always going to be sick. But if it was me i would do whatever makes me happy If you are not happy in what you do then what is the point ? Don't wake up 10 years down the road and say to yourself wtf have i been doing this for. Don't feel like you must listen to your dad he can't live your life for you. I'm sure he would be happy with whatever you pick to do in life.

Don't think I read anyone say jobs that are in dire need of tradesmen (in the UK), plummer, electrician. Both very well paid jobs once qualified, and certainly no shortage of work.
