It should be upgrade that much if not more for the ammount of work we put into the quest.

Hey, the shield is nothing but a quest item to get reforged, nobody actually wears it. It doesn't need an upgrade.

LOL everyone does this quest and barly anyone BARLY anyone can even get a reg SB let alone a RFSB. Lots of people use this shield. I use this shield and I know lots of people would like it upgraded aswell.

also while outwar is upgradeing SR items they should upgrade SoA with resistance sense its a epic quest.

Before Zach left, he told us in the forums that there would be a quest to upgrade the shield. Too bad he left... No more war of zhul, no augment quests, and no upgraded SoA

Not really, all that those ideas can still be made, i'm sure WoZ will come back around again, just revamped.

Also, because I know someone will say "well what about people who already did reforged?. . .Easy. . . You do the quest and at the last part you turn in your reforged and get a normal Sacred Blade and a Shield of the Aces.

Would anyone with a reforged do this? Doubt it. . But it stops people from crying about not having the option.

If nobody wears it isn't that more of a reason to upgrade it?

The only time I tried for this quest (Level 57 and still haven't finished it) was when I was in a position to possibly get an essence for reforged. As soon as that chance died, I just didn't bother anymore, no reason either since the rage spent isn't worth the exp and defiantly not the shield.

I also agree. Shield is so important for the quest, but nothing else. It should just sit in peoples vaults, and I think the stats he suggested in the start of the thread are a great replacement :)

Once the Reforged quest was added it got downgraded to a quest item because you can only do it once.
I disagree, once better shields started trickling out and becoming very cheap to purchase it was downgraded. The same exact thing would have happened to the Sacred Blade of the Order had they not implemented a Reforged Quest. All the more reason to add one here.

The only people who 'don't see a benefit' are the people who are capable of using it as a quest item. The fact remains it was not originally designed as a quest item. Honestly, what is the problem with allowing people to work hard in order to upgrade the shield they have they they'll never be able to turn into a Reforged Blade in order to get a better shield.

Frankly, if there was no Reforged Blade all you people with sacred blades would be whining right now about the amount of work it took to get in relation to all of the other new weapons and how it needs to be upgradeable.

pointless, everyone wants a reforged sacred blade and everyone would turn in the shield of aces if they have access to life forces and all the stuff for blade. u say that now cause u don't have a blade, if u had one u wouldn't care about stats on shield.
Exactly my point - The people with blades are going to want this not to go through and the people without blades do. But realistically most of us without blades aren't ever going to get them. That blade has been out for over 2 years now and is still going strong price wise. And. . .Considering these gods are dropping in 20-40 seconds we really don't have the chance.

I don't choose my crews based on getting a Sacred Blade as I'm sure many others don't. With that mentality we should remove all weapons from the game except the Sacred Blade.

My point is that the majority of players will never see a Sacred Blade, thus, treating the ace as "just another quest item" when clearly it wasn't originally designed that way isn't the appropriate action to take. I'm not complaining about it, I've accepted this fact.

And, honestly, I'm using Defender of the Universe right now and am next up in my crew for a Grace. Upgrading this shield doesn't effect me, however, it's the right thing to put in.

are u sure it wasn't meant to be used for reforged from the day it got added, though reforged quest was added later ? i'd sure like to see quest items being used for further quests rather than keeping them in my vault

Now think of the Sacred Blade - If there was no upgrade who would use them?. . .I'm sure not people with proton chainguns as the Sacred Blade is slowly becoming "just another item". It's the fact that you can upgrade it that has kept it alive.

i can say for certain ill never be able to get the reforged (unless a friend that's on but no on AIM right now wants to hook me up) but I without a doubt would love to have a regular sacred blade on my character.

I think you missed the scenario. ..We're refering to the IF FACTOR assuming that it wasn't upgradeable and comparing ONLY THAT to the Shield of Aces. THIS IS IN ORDER TO compare the reasons as to why the Sacred Blade is more important then the shield.

no u miss the point even if sacred blade wasnt upgradeable its still one of the best blades in the game and still 80% of ow players would want one..

aces sucks hence its a quest item.

you cant compare aces to a sacred thats like comparing brocoli to a roasted potato it just doesnt work

People would still want them but I guarantee you without a doubt that the price of the expensive essences would see a decent drop within 2-3 weeks if reforged blades were no longer available.

i don't see how this has to do with the aces.

i think the aces should be upgraded as well, but i think more through another quest than automatic. The problem with the aces shield being crappy compared to the real epic quest is you cna solo the quest, whereas you can't really solo all those life stones. (maybe hec can with all his multis, lol, but most can't)

I'll do the quest when I know there's a possiblity to upgrade it later. As of now, I'll keep working with my crew until I earn something better than the SoA.

what some players dont understand is not only do u get the shield u get a bucket load of xp too from doing the quest...

don;t get me wrong, theres nice exp, but I'm doing it right now on a character with 15k MR and 1k RPT and constantly OOR (kinda like WoW's OOM) . by no means including the 100k at the end and all the mini turn ins 1.5k or so exp is the quest worth doing for a good rage/exp ratio. I am doing it because i like having the cards on my profile like a medal :).

Im sorry but the 100k or so exp that you get from the quest is nothing NOTHING compared to what exp you can DC with the rage spent on the quest... 250k rage just for the 1000 CM's. I can dc 750k exp from that easy. and only get a 100k reward and the shield cant be upgraded so some people will use it?

That in itself is a reason to upgrade it. I understand people saying that there's no point, but for the people of lower levels, even if it's just a little bit, it couldn't possibly hurt.

I think that, the shield of aces should be stronger, but not that mutch, like same stats, but instead, of 13% block-15% block, and like 50 of each resistance.

It needs some stats not resistance. resistance would be nice but its the least logical. There is always SR items to get resistance.

Increasing the block to 15%, the Max rage up 300, and the critical hit up abour 6%, I think it would be a bit more worth getting. Adjust the other stats to be raised up 10% more :)

SoA used to be a shield i was really after... a while ago... only other shields were the runic, BH, Fang, Aegis.. most people used block auged BH shields.. but SoA was just as good if you managed to finish the Q

Anyways, when all the new gods came(5 man gods etc), the SoA was useless (crest/bracer shield block auged took over) or the dreg shield/brut shield..

SoA certainly does need an upgrade...

The point would be to allow us to reforge our shields just like we reforge our blades... if you worked 40 hours in a week and got a $10 check and then your boss snatched it back cause he wanted lunch youd be laying down the law about how you must have your full check or youll call the cops... same thing... we do a pointlessly long quest to get a crappy shield only to turn it in and not have a possibility of reforging it into a better shield????

As for whoever turned it in for reforged... im sure ow programmers can add in an extra 10 lines of code that detects whether you had it before and re-award it to your bp so you can reforge your aces...

Yes. I'm a level 48 with the shield and trying to do the sword quest but those life forces do suck. It's a low to midrate shield in my opinion and I only wear it because it's a free one with just enough block to get me 25% block with my tome (that's really bad, btw). :)

Why should there be an upgrade on the epic shield. The only thing I have heard is that noobs wear it cause its all they can get. There is no point to a quest to upgrade an item, that your just going to turn in anyways for a reforged blade.

out of the thousands of people who have the shield how many people have a reforged? maybe 15 total.

Well Since I don't have a regular SBotO I won't be turning the shield in for a blade for quite some time and then theres people on the server with the shield who will never have a blade. There should be an upgrade for the shield just to make it a bit better.

You must be in a purty 1337 crew because out of the people I personally know on OW none of them have the reforged and I've only seen maybe 4 or 5 on torax.
