I am just posting this thread to show my opinions on the game now from the last patch, 19/07/08.

Guess i'll start off on a few good notes. The open PVP for red/orange names is good as it allows everybody to engage in pvp if they want to, and if anybody does not want to engage in pvp they still have the option of keeping their white name and staying unguilded. It is also quite good that anyone that is killed by a player 10+ lvl's above them will not drop a chest to loot, which will prevent higher level players killing lower players and looting them, making the lower people's gaming time harder.

Its also good now that the attack bar numbers on spells now show up red when you are out of range or the target is not in sight. this allows a quick glance down at the attack bar to know when you are able to attack, instead of having to keep pressing that spell button to find out.

This is where all the good points end im affraid.

First of all, after the last patch, the amount of reagents required for spells is absolutely barbaric. For a lvl 50 character like myself for example, lvl 50 spells such as Hell Shield (inner fire) or Billowing Inferno (flame wave), require 4 of the usual reagents that you only needed 1 of before, plus one of the low drop rate reagents that are dropped in FF and Zhul. It requires enough effort as it is to have to farm for the reagents, let alone having to farm for them every day just about to get anough to last a few hours. These reagents are also required for lvl 45-50 pets, which i feel is also a bit much. Pets are used very commonly in this game, and we cannot afford to use our reagents as we need them for other spells and buffs, and as they need to be farmed and cant be bought, there is a low supply of them. These reagents should be able to be bought from the vendors, as im sure nobody would like to spend most of their gaming time trying to get simple reagents. It doesn't matter if the reagents are more expensive than normal ones, but it is too much to have to manually get them.

The next thing is when you die, health and vigor are reduced to about 10%. I think this is a bit over the top, as you need to heal yourself every time you die, and for people that cannot heal, they have to wait until their health regenerates, which can take ages. I think this should be increases to at least 50% if not 75%, as this would be much less of a hassle.

Vigor when it is at 100 i feel should either instantly fill your mana balls up or should at least go faster than it does now, as you have to wait a fair bit of time before your mana regenerate so you can heal or buff yourself or your pets. I also think that when you finish anattack, your vigor goes back up to 100 in 5's, not 20's like before the patch. This also is quite annoying having to wait to get full givor so you can heal or buff faster.

The last thing is the new chat setup. The chat shouldnt be set up so it resets back to group/say/guild chat whenever you type in World or Trade chat. OK, the 5 second rule is fair enough to stop spamming, but having to change from chat to chat constantly is very annoying.

Can everyone please provide feedback on this post, so we can try and make CoP as good as we can. Thanx.

SLASH - LVL 50 - Leader of Empire

I don't really mind the regent update, tends to keep the lvl50 skills abit reserved and more of a need to use base. Then again note i'm black/green.. i only have to stock up on the one item, and it only effects buffs/self-healing.. NOT ATTACKS (That would suck lol). I like the basic idea of what they are trying to do here, and i think its pretty cool.. from my point of view. Whats needed here is adjustment, and maybe taking a look at how much less of a hassle it is for some classes compared to others.
Also its odd black really dont have much to worry about as their isn't a single black spell i use that needs these unbuyable regents. Keep up the good work on this aspect.. but yes it needs alittle fine tuning, and if were going to have rare regents maybe we dont really need to make something use 4 buyable regents at the same time. I don't neccesary think it needs to be a vendor buyable thing, but if your going to implement this i'd like to think i'd be able to start finding these things when i entered boulder (if not sooner, if you can find them already i wouldn't know.. zhul!) so atleast by the time you are 50 and need these special regents you probably aquired quite a few.

One thing i like about the losing health if you die and your stuck in gy for awhile is the fact that alot of people are going to be going after the same gods, i'd think in the final their will be loads and loads more players so it could get quite crowded.. a small timeout might be nice to enable others to give it a shot. Other then that it does suck, i dont think it should happen if you die in pvp combat, though a quick solution to refill is to simply portal to a new zone, which in some cases is quicker then refilling 6k health lol.

Totally with ya on the chat thing, unless its a game performance problem if you want to prevent spam just let the users handle it. I don't know anyone who's too shy to tell someone to please use group/zone chat.

The vigor thing isn't a big deal, but yeah it is kind of annoying.. if i need to buff just myself i need to use 7 mana balls, having to convert soul myself for group/party buffing is kind of fun but not everyone is black.

Thanks for the great feedback. I agree these are many significant changes in this patch to the way the game feels. We intentionally moved things to the harder end of the scale so that we have room to work with when the game goes live (it's always easier to make things easier than harder).

With that said, we are keeping an eye on how things are and you can expect tweaks to many of the values.

One thing to note about spawning the GY with low health. You can gain health back quickly by eating. Check the vendors in DC for high level food.

I forgot to mention anything about pets. I think its fine that level50 pets need to have regents used we can't buy, but i dont think the pets such as mammoths should as they are a one time thing, you can get loads more use out of the level50 pet compared to for the same cost. I've actually removed mammoths from my battle bar and left that spot blank so i don't accidentally waste any of these valuable resources, yet i think green has it farily easy only needing the regents for buffs/pets compared to others.

This is from my perspective at this moment in the game, not sure how it would have been if i was collecting these regents prior to me even being able to use them as i hear they drop in ff as well as zhul. That being the case it might be fine how it is, we just didn't have the opportunity most will to slowly progress into the areas that drop them.
