Once home to many of Outwar's extinct species, The Lost Island of Bacaba disappeared from Outwar lore after many believed it to be destroyed in a volcanic eruption thousands of years ago.
Rumor of its existence resurfaced recently after a cargo ship, carrying some of Outwars most ancient and powerful artifacts, disappeared off the coast of Hewarea. Pieces of the ship were seen floating near a dark clouded whirlpool.
Witnesses to the wreckage said that they could hear the sound of men screaming, coming from the whirlpool.
Should the crew members still be alive, many fear they could be held prisoner to the Mighty Ashmaw Gorilla tribe. The Ashmaws are an ancient tribe known for their extreme intelligence and raw aggression. They reside in the tree city of Buburore, and worship the powerful god, Kobar the Furious.
Are the crew members still alive? Have they been captured by the Ashmaw's or something worse? What happened to the lost artifacts? Have they fallen into the wrong hands?
Outwar turns to you for help. Seek out the location of the hidden island, discover the truth about what happened to the cargo ship, and recover as many artifacts as you can.
The inhabitants will not take kindly to your presence on their island. So be careful you don't disappear along with them.
==================================
The Buried Ruins of Bacaba is Outwar's newest, high-level raid dungeon (lvls 60-64)
Similar to Stone Raven, crew mates will travel to the Ruins and discover its secrets to receive powerful rewards.

Lots of great info today on the Buried Ruin of Bacaba (BrB). Development is coming along quickly!
Questlines:
BrB is going to have no shortage of quests to do. As it stands right now, I'm looking at at least 15. That number is sure to go up as I get further into the zone. But right now, the first area is LOADED.
A little insight on a couple quests I think are cool:
- I have a handful of easy "outside" quests set up, that will give you rewards simply for just going to the BrB. Example: a man in the dusty glass wants you to bring him a jar filled with sand from the beach of the buried ruins. Head to the BrB, grab the sand, and get rewarded after your done!
These quests are not repeatable, but will have substantial xp and other rewards.
- I also cooked up a couple alternative quest lines within the BrB. These quests are completely optional during your stay in BrB, but if you complete them, you will be rewarded with powerful potions, and duration items designed exclusively for the BrB.
============================
Items
I have gotten started getting some new sets and items together. Here's a quick screen shot of something I had open this morning.
http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/1720/bacabapreview2ir1.jpg
I have a lot of work ahead of me with the items. Right now, I have 28 new wearable items, planned to drop in the BrB. I do expect that number to go up, maybe as high as 40. The items consist of everything... set items, non set items, bind of equip items, tradable, and non-tradable. All can be obtained via quests, and boss drops of varying difficulty.
Some of this stuff is relatively easy to obtain, some of it, is very very difficult.
But the bottom line for all of these items.... expect them to be badass.
=========================
I figured I would leave you today with the beta screen for the first area of the BrB.

Thanks again for checking out my thread! More news on bosses and items same time next week... maybe even a release date!

I'm liking what I see
Keep up the good work, your getting many players back into OW
Heh, Now I just hope the Level they say match the difficulty
Unlike what happened to SR when it first came out

Nice.
Next it would be nice if you could do an area like this for like level 40 - 55. So that when you've finished that you can do SR =D
It would be useful.

dunno what u are talking about, but sr when it came out was impossible to beat, it was just the fact they added flasks to treasury that made it easy to do, because the 3rd god was unbeatable

60-64 is good, otherwise the game would become overloaded with BrB items much like SR items did from lv 65-70 RSBs raping it.

When I say lvls 60 - 64, it means you have to be lvl 60 minimum to enter.... The 64 is there to show you how hard the mobs and bosses will be.. levels 64 + are more than welcome in the BrB.
Down the road... I have hopes to make another for 65-69, and then the endall zone for lvl 70.

Don't be dumb. They've heard that suggestion a million times. The fact is, MANY dc areas were made perfect for levels 40-55, especially with new skills... from level 40, you can be 55 in a matter of weeks with dedicated dc'ing, and then SR... granted, almost 0 level 55's can really take extremely or even large parts in SR, requiring many of our higher leveled friends... (we do SR with 1 level 66, 2 level 59's, and 2 level 57's in our crew) and ofc our level 66 does most of the work (LEET account :P)
Not trying to just flame, but honestly, go put in a few hours in dc with fero skills, and you'll see how easy it is to get yourself to SR-able levels >.<

Thats what I;m talking about
SR = impossible to beat when it first came out
and the level that it was set to, for players to enter was way to low to do SR

maybe he has all the top items :p i'm good with the items i have now, sure there are better items than i have, but i'd rather keep the ones i have, don't wanna spend points on gems and augs. i'd rather feed my gambling addiction playing scratch tickets :D
Id still like to see better pics of the items and a ruff cost for Buried ruins plz

The point of it is to make it harder than doing SR.
They don't want to throw leet items to just anyone. ;)

this is the first time in a long time i've been excited about a content release. Couple of questions:
1) Are any of the new raids going to be participation/raid bound like SR was? (or still is?)
2) What sort of stats can we look forward too? Clearly some items will be obsolete, but to what degree? are dreg items still going to be competative or will people be trading in their ele preservers?
3) I don't think I saw it, but what sort of release date do you expect?
5) how many people in a BrB raid? 5 like SR or more/less?
6) and what sort of stats will we need to do these raids?

Don't know took me a lot of time to get the stuff for the pants to drop, more than a week.
Hopefully this area will drop some nice augments like SR did, as pretty much all of the augment drops are crappy in stats.

they probally won't tell you what resistance to stack up on, ruins the suprise. I'm pretty sure we'd be able to rape anything but Kinetic, so hell it might be kinetic.

Yeah, I would stack up on kin, but im waiting for a support ticket to see if ow will return pts
i just bought some kinetic augs,so really i think i'll not have problem..you just need enough resists,and i'm sure we'll beat it easy,+if all members have raiding school,it will be easy
there is a kinetic flask that you can use for hours so it wont be hard to get resist at all
