View Full Version : Complete Reworking of Game Balance

There are SEVERAL areas to be taken into consideration here.

Treasury items are out of balance. Treasury prices should be server specific. A zhul piece on fabar for example is a complete waste of anything. Oblivion can be gotten cheaper. Even an elemental preserver can be gotten cheaper. Even nar zhul gods can be gotten cheaper. All are better.

Then on to the shield of aces. For the amount of work that is needed, that shield sucks, no offense. Maybe it should be upgraded a bit. The sboto is the only dc quest worth doing.

The original 15 man elemental raids were upped to 20. These are WAY out of balance. Only murderface gets done for the most part because he drops the only 2 valuable items from the entire tier. SR gods are MUCH better then anything dropped by this tier, yet they're much harder. I don't understand this. Anguish is next to impossible and he drops pretty much utter crap. The items dropped don't even have any real resistances that help crews build on making them easier like SR does. Why does the easiest god in this tier drop the best items? I'm just too confused.

The game's balance needs severely rethought, my suggestion is for you admins to sit and think on ideas like increasing anguish and other next to impossible gods that drop utter crap to maybe 30 - 40 man. Murderface should be kept the same since he actually does drop something thats worth raiding him for. This would actually bring this entire section of the game into play, adding more content for crews that they should already have access to.

I liked the treasury when it first came out, but now i wish they would have kept the whole 'auctioneer' thing. Auctions are dead now.

I'm not sure about the Shield of Aces, since it is used to further the Sacred blade of the order, but hey, i wouln't mind having a stat boost for it. At least raise the critical&rampage...

Yeah, this area needs to be redone, from scratch preferably, to avoid a bigger batch of bugs/glitches.

Their idea of balance is making it so only the very top crews and players can get the worthwhile stuff. Its happened over and over, first with the requirements for quests, then their little tweak with the levels, and now it looks like they're pulling some crap with SR as well.

It is so hard to level now for anyone above 30 to level. There is nothing to kill that produces enough XP to level. I spent an hour kill grinding and yielded 20k killing the hardest mobs available to me without overspending rage and just flat out running out of it. I have been stuck at 37 for 3 weeks. I get more xp from preferred player than I do from actually playing the game. I think XP should be more available to people, maybe up the XP on higher level mobs, or lower the rage cost of fighting the mobs in stizzy or something. Any thoughts?

The game isn't meant to be so simple a baby could play it, if you want to get the best out of the game, you need to put the work into it :)

Justin, this is because it IS NOT my job, I'm just bringing something to the attention of you and your fellow co-workers because some of you just aren't getting it. If you wanted me to suggest the methods for doing the complete rework give me a damn job and let me make the money you're making

The sboto is the only dc quest worth doing.

not meant for a baby? are you serious? give a baby a credit card. I get 44,048 experience a day for not playing at level 28. That's not even logging in and i get that. granted 20k MR and 1.5k RPT make it easier for me to achieve 100k+ growth per day, and not have to worry about 0 rage very often (leveling at low levels is so easy), but I will agree with quests needing to be reworked.

Minimum level to start quests is a little off, such as:
Spreading Evil is a level 23 quest, and requires killing nothing higher than 30
The first Loiterer quest is level 20 and requires killing level 35 mobs

And I'm not about to look through all the quests that give exp to see how bad the levels are off on them. (lower level quests that are easier to complete giving more exp than high level ones that are hard and give next to no exp) And how hard is it to make a bunch of easily completed quests to make it a little less repetitive to level?


Shield of Aces is still way WTF out there on time consumed on a single quest. Granted at least it is required later on, but with all the new shields in the game, shouldn't this be upped? OR a level minimum on items(not at all suggesting this, if people want to spend money to buy better gear, at lower levels I say let them). I have Grace equipped at level 28 and am not eligible to even start the shield of aces quest. Something just doesn't seem right about that. There's not many mobs I can't beat unskilled and yet so much I can't do. All equipped items except one are from SR but I can't go there for another over 17 million experience.

Seriously how does OW expect us to level in a decent amount of time when there are so few quests and so much needed experience? I have no problem DCing, but pretty much every quest completed by 42, then grinding and PP/EPT leveling to 55????

I totally agree, the level requirements for the quests are silly. I know they adjusted lvl requirements at the bottom levels so it's harder to get people up to level 24 (level 10 skill) and also put level requirements on quests for the same reason (thus why a large portion unlock at level 25). By the time you hit level 25 you have so much experience for the next level, even doing every quest doesn't really do much for anyone. Pretty much you HAVE to dc now to get anywhere and that gets SOOOOOOO boring after awhile. I really believe OW needs to develop an area like SR but geared towards level 45-55 players. Right now I'm in the grind of going from level 49 (when ow finally came back up) up to level 55 and the only way for me to do that is dc'ing. Can't level 45-55 have their own "SR" to ease the use of dc'ing the same mobs over and over? And yes, I have done every quest I can at my level so there is literally only dc'ing for me.

i agree that shield of aces could use a boost, maybe a smaller reforged quest for it?
