Looks excellent, cant wait to see if you can put the glow around it.. then maybe even make it reforged. Right off the bat you can tell its a sacred, very nice. Ignore the lackluster post ***** of a 'moderator'. lol

It is alright. It's not good. It's not "done." You can see jagged edges and the lack of proper lighting and shaders make it look fake. The gem on the hilt looks flat and there's no detail in the handle, hilt or blade. With todays 3D rendering tech there really is no reason to not have smooth lines, good lighting and decent shaders, even with the free ones (i.e. milkshake).
All that's really going in the picture is 2 rectangles, a cylinder, a sphere, a plan and a camera with a light. With some basic object geometry manipulation and a boolean you can accomplish what you see.
It's not bad. Yes, you can recognize what he's trying to do so it's a start. As as I said, it's alright, not excellent, newb.

yea i just threw this together real wuick while i was waiting for my rage to come back. the part i still have to do is the fire effect, a little bit more on the texture, but the geometry is completely done. Its supposed to look "edgy", i can make a perfect looking one, but thats not my style. I mostly work on the type of models with low poly counts that u can then put into games like counter strike, etc. so everything u see up there is exactly what i was aiming for since i started it.
