space rangers raids

how do you do them i cant figure it out it wont let me join other ppl for some reason is there do need t have the space rangers gear equiped to do it or what?? could some1 help plz asap !!

I don't believe the gear is required, but I do think the other people have to have 3 things.

Be the right level (41 I think)
be that far in the quest
have weapons that deal elemental damage of some sort (some elemental resistance wouldn't be bad either)
