I'm guessing by the fact you have a signature, you have found out that you can use signatures, but all you need for an avatar is a certain amount of activity, I don't think it will prove too hard.

a huge flux of people will happen soon anywhere, with the rebirth of the forums.
People will post tonnes of awesome crap, for you to point and laugh at.
and reply too of course.

I have to wait 15 days before I get my avatar.

The avatar needs to be 19.5kb or less, so you're not missing out on much lol. All the nicer avatars are usually way above that.

19.5kb, is bigger than the usual OW profile picture size of 15kb, and it can be twice as big as the one here.

the one I've got lined up is only 7kb big anyhoo :(...

But again in response, we've now singled out 2 people that were able to sit on the forums till they made 100 posts, before the admin's decided they were gonna implement this.

I think we need either the ability to use avatars at the turn of 100, or revert wizzy and domination back to suit the wait.

Why should I be made to suffer, with a empty blank space next to my name. Perhaps making it a 5 day wait since first post or something, rather than 15 days. thats a whole 1/2 month, how in-active do you expect people to be?

I'm not saying anything bad about w1zz or you dom but I am saying it's a stupid idea that needs some fast rethinking, this is just another way to avoid a problem rather then dealing with it head on. Pretty easy to get people to monitor boards and it's pretty easy to get people to do it, give them some incentive like some points for a month or something (although I know first hand that modding sucks for OW, you work always and you get 100 points a month). Nonetheless I know plenty would be anxious to do it. If someone is spamming delete their post. Not really hard. Come on people :/

all that is needed is more active Super Moderators, that can get the boards covered almost all of the time.

If as soon as spam starts showing up, it is being dealt with, we wouldn't come to problems like this.

I'm not whining about the avatar persay, I'm complaining about the fact that all that was done to avoid spammers was to put a day timer on avatar use? That's utterly absurd to say it without it getting edited by a mod.

No-one volunteers to be a Super Mod, you get voted in or accidentally placed through drunken mishaps.

The current Super Mods; gina and Shawty. Devoted their time to the old OW boards, and were very helpful, and strict when they needed to be. A high post count doesn't denote the fact you need to be a Mod :P

Nonetheless shawty is a big help I've noticed that on the boards and in my personal case.

Also -- reverting to Dom's post

a 48 timer AFTER your 100 post count has been reached would be a much better solution I think.

once you're there, you've done the spamming anyway, if you haven't got stopped on the way there, you aren't gonna get stopped 48 hours after you make it :(

I don't think I've seen any of w1zzy spamming. People can post one sentence posts that have validation, meaning, and thought to them. You don't have to write a thesis to be entitled a post on any forum, let alone outwar. That's pretty funny, if anything.

That 15 day wait thing seems like the mod was just annoyed and put in a random number, its too harsh and i believe it'll be changed evenually.

Wouldn't it make sense that those REALLY interested in having a lil'picture next to their username would be particularly active, and hence would reach the 100 posts by the 15th day anyhow ?
