I've been trying to get on all day, but when I click "Login" it always says "Connecting to server timed out". I tried multiple times and even restarted my PC, what's wrong? Are there too many people on the server or what?

To be honest, I'm not sure what port.
Anyways, the game STILL won't work....Still says the same thing and was told it would be fixed today....ugh...

Hmm, well it goes farther on my laptop, but most of the time it'll freeze up when loading Helmstead.

I have a similar problem but the message but it says "The server has dropped the connection:Timed Out" Aside from eating up all my memory while doing this I have no idea what the cause is.
i by passed the TimeOut error by lowering my graphics ALOT

1 gig ram 2.6 GHz duo processor 256 Nvidia GeForce 6200 running on windows vista. I've played pretty much any mmo you can name such as WoW, FFXI, DDO, EQ and so many F2P games theres no way in hell i could name them all. I've been able to run everything with decent to high graphic quality (and run them well). I will probably get tons of people trying to tell me it's my computer which has the problem, but I'm fairly certain it isn't. So maybe it's a coding problem? appearantly many people are getting timed out and it seems like its due to the fps rate or atleast in my case and in Ylts' so yeah it would be nice to know whats going on :3 information about the problem would be appreciated.

From what ive heard Cop doesnt use your video card its all from your ram and processor
and yes its poorly for me and I have about the same cpu specs as you.
Its safe to say that all people with problems-->less than 3ghz processor(intel) Less than model 3000+(athlon, runs at 2,2 ghz or something) and/or 1gb or less ram
If you have timeouts you can try the following:
1. Close all extra programs you have running with alt+ctrl+del.
2. In the laucher change all graphics settings to MINIUM, be sure to press apply(maybe try a few of the lowest resolutions)
That should make you load faster and not get the timeout.

I guess I will wait until they incorporate the video cards to pull some of the weight. (edit) and ty for the replies! >.<

We're already aware of the memory issues, I posted this in all the other threads. The connection issues aren't because of how the engine uses video cards or anything, its because right now we're loading every available model in an engine never designed for an MMO. Our programmers are working to optimize how it handles memory and we aren't worried about the usage of video cards because in a few months we will be porting the engine over to a shader version of it that has all the capabilities of other market engines, if not more. The next patch ( on monday ) should alleviate SOME of the memory issues since models not in the game yet will not be getting loaded into your memory.

yes, certainly good to hear,as I'm having the same issue. Game simply won't load, I either get this timeout or it simply get stuck loading, or the launcher simply closes (no error message).
True, my machine isn't the newest one, but all drivers/cards/programs are up to date, and I don't encounter such issues with other games.
