can there be a way to fire them?

I have a lot of workers i dont use now and they take population cap

there is a pink slip option if you click it once it asks to confirm and the next click fires them thats when your viewing the property.

so how do you delete workers you dont use so you can delete houses?

I think that is what he was refering to. Using pink slip option only fires them from the building but they remain in the poperty cap so your lumbered with staff u dont need.

Example, ive over 200 hookers i cant get rid of, they dont even give me freebies so wtf is the point in keeping them?
