to basic, if thats for a battle, your gonna need a light source, and def blend ur render better, i know how you made that it took around 10 mins. ive done sigs before that took around 4 days to finish because it was a battle sig. overall its really good just not battle good, i quit doing battles cuz i suck

didn't bother blending it, and i added a light light source to the top left which shines down onto his face... its like a light layer of white set to soft light while i added a light layer of black to the right side to darken it up a lil... as for the pic... it was more of like a 7 min pic :-P

if i was to blend, i prob would duplicate the render and smudge it out or smudge the bottom layer over part of him...

I prefer using the lighting render option over a soft-round brush for light sources. Easier to control and more realistic, not as noticeable if done right either.
