What do you guys think about it? Currently I hate it because I live in Texas (an elementary school in my town is closing for a week) and because my last school baseball game of the year got canceled.
So yeah I'm just wondering what you guys think about it.

It's the normal flu but the pig version, not normally catchable by humans, except very rare cases. . Both the flu and swine flu are lethal but are treatable. . .I don't see why it's such a big deal to be completely honest. . ."oh my god, 2 cases in an hour?!". . .Wait. . that's nothing!

Different strains of the flu do not all act the same. Case; Spanish Flu.

I'm not too worried about it. I live no where near Mexico. Besides, it's only 2009. We still have 3 years. If the world is going to be wiped out by a virus, I don't think it will be this one.
I've done quite a bit of reading on the Swine Flu N1H1. It's nothing out of the ordinary from what you'd expect from a swine flu, but it's getting around. All over the world. I thought that until this morning there were no fatalities in the United States.

Well it turns out Fort worth ISD (Brother city of dallas) has closed, THE WHOLE ISD (elementary, middle, and high). For a week, tomarrow we are taking the most important test in the state and they closed it.

Humans have absolutely NO immunity to the Swine Flu, that is the problem. So it is much more lethal than the normal flu.

I'm loving how my shitty little town has a case; Redditch, UK
I told people that our town was the worst place in the world hence why we would get swine flu first in England and look what happened I WAS RIGHT! lmao
Don't worry though guys we have Tamiflu :)

There's some dots on that map near the border with France (I live in Belgium), but I'm sure the virus will surrender soon since it's French and all...

CDC says it presents like the flu, I can imagine it being more dangerous because as mentioned we have no natural immunity to it but it's really not as big as they're making it seem - All the CDC/WHO are doing right now is scaring the shit out of people.

yeah about 200 people have died of it in mexico (not sure if its cos they cant treat things very well) id imagine their hospitals aint great (might be wrong, just being typically english and assuming foreign countrys are not good at medical things)

Well they are scaring people so people know whats going on, as this flu can be passed from person to person very easy, almost like airborne. Rather scare people and make them stay home and not go outside and get infected

Thats SUSPECTED deaths
They actually just took any death from even normal flu in those figures, they haven't separated, swine flu deaths CONFIRMED are what? 8 in mexico as well as the mexican child in the U.S.
Like i said before Tamiflu ftw :)
uk will have 50 million by the end of may rawr :)

The majority of US cases are likely from American's visiting Mexico for vacation.

Yup
We're only at level 5 because of the U.S. having a couple of human to human places since you need 2 countries at human to human to actually warrant a level 5 warning haha

one reported case at the university in my hometown. nothing at my current university tho :)
i think its nothing too serious. just that the media has been used to scare people into going to see a doctor. helps reduce the death count i guess

I will infect you all!!!
Jk...I think people are over-reacting about the flu...I live in South CA, and, according to the news, it seems to spreading in that region. Yes, no one is immune to it, however, there are still pills that can be taken to cure it. So if I were to feel the symptoms of the flu, I would just take the pill, rest at home, wait a couple days, and be back to normal, lol.

3 schools by me just closed, 1 about 3 blocks away from me, the other 2 just north of the district. Rumors going around of closing the other 3 high schools in district, and the 2 high schools east of it.

im not too worried about swine flu. 10 cases have been reported in the university less than 2 miles away from where i live. every single "flu" outbreak has been overhyped.. and there is a cure for it.
no way am i going to worry.
Invincible

and there is a cure for it.
Its a treatment not a cure
Tamiful (oseltamivir) in every case where it has been used has had a good response, but if we keep spamming it out like this to everyone the person has ever seen basically it won't be long til we get a resistant strain and bam our fears of the epic pandemic will most likely be here!
